Madragoa 1
This beautifully renovated old-style apartment is situated in a residential area called Madragoa/Lapa. It is one of the oldest and most typical quarters of Lisbon; in the olden days it used to be a fishing neighborhood. The spacious apartment (2nd floor, no lift) has small front balconies with plenty of sunshine and views over the Tagus River and the city. This apartment is within walking distance to museums, galleries, and to the lush Jardim da Estrela, as well as various embassies and the official prime-minister residence. You are just a short walk away from the Santos (design district) and Docas areas with its trendy bars, restaurants and designer shops. It is walking distance to the tram, and 10 min. distance to the train station Alcântara. From there it only takes 20 min to the amazing coastal town of Cascais.

Lapa
If you want to have a feel for Lisbon life choose this neighborhood located on hills overlooking the city and the Tagus river. You can ride the popular old style cable cars 28 or 25 across this mid-18th century district, home to the old “palacetes” now turned into foreign embassies. Many points of interest are at walking distance, like the Santos district also know as the design district or great landmarks, namely the Basilica da Estrela built in the 18th century and the wonderful Jardim da Estrela laid out in the middle of the 19th century, the central feature being a green wrought- iron bandstand filigreed through out. The Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga a palace of the 17th century which houses Portugal’s national art collection is of special interest. This neighborhood is filled with many Portuguese style cafes and restaurants.
