Penedo
PenedoThe house is an ancient "saloio" cottage originally housing animals and the village bakery. It has been beautifully transformed into a charming two-storey house, each equipped with its own front door and its own patio. Escape from city and work-related stress and enjoy the respite in a beautifully restored 300-year old house in an historic country village at the edge of a UNESCO-protected mountain dotted with historic palaces and surrounded by a national park only 20 km from lisbon and 5 km from the refreshing Atlantic. Even the stove is fuelled with wood! The upstairs includes the master bedroom suite with library, fireplace and master bath, and the bedroom mezzanine with two beds overlooking the living room. Downstairs, a cosy living/dining room with an authentic working bread oven (which acts also as a fireplace as well as an additional cooking source), the kitchen with its cast-iron wood-burning cooker as well as a second (albeit tiny) full bathroom. The house is situated on a stepped and cobble-stoned lane. The two patios (15 and 22 square metres, respectively) have well-established divine mini gardens. An ”after hours” fee of 40 Euros will be applicable between 9 pm and 8 am. LocationSintra - Penedo, Lisbon Characteristicts
